GOM was founded in 1977 by composer Rufo Herrera during the UFMG Winter Festival, within Fundação de Educação Artística in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Ione de Medeiros became its director in 1983.
The group’s history brings together music, theatre and visual expression. This institutional background is distinct from the individual services and project scopes described on this website.
